Anna Tsing, Professor of Anthropology at UC Santa Cruz, is the author of award-winning books such as, Friction: An ethnography of global connection (Princeton 2005), In the Realm of the Diamond Queen: Marginality in an Out-of-the-Way Place (Princeton 1994), and most recently, The Mushroom at the End of the World: On the Possibility of Life in Capitalist Ruins (Princeton 2015). Tsing is also a collaborator in the Matsutake World Research Group, investigating the global scientific, ecological, and commercial connections involving matsutake mushrooms.
