Discuss Houston Recycling with Chris Butler and Brian K. Yeoman, Jan. 15 @ Noon

CENHS, The Rice Environmental Club, and the Shell Center for Sustainability invite you to a lunchtime talk about recycling in Houston. The event will take place January 15th at 12 noon in the Great Hall. Please RSVP to cenhs@rice.edu for a free lunch, and remember to bring your own container for water. You can find more information here.

The City of Houston’s proposed “One Bin For All” initiative would allow Houston residents to place all trash, recyclables, and compostables into one bin for collection. These materials would then be sorted at a proposed new facility, yielding resource recovery rates estimated to reach 75 percent.
The speakers will present the initiative and answer questions.

• Chris Butler is the Deputy Director, Office of the Mayor, City of Houston

• Brian K. Yeoman is the City Director Houston for the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group of the Clinton Climate Initiative, and the Director of Sustainable Leadership for the National Association of Educational Procurement.
